Question for D800 Owners That Previuosly Owned (still) D700

Hello all you D800 owners. I'm curious to know how many of you feel that the D700 was better for your shooting needs than the D800 after purchasing it? I'm sure many of you decided to keep your D700 when you purchased the D800, so I'd also like to know if the weight difference is noticeable to include the overall functionality. Are the files sizes 'really' an issue? Do you use your D700 more after purchasing your D800? Personally, I loved my D700 but lugging it around with the 24-70 while running after my kids was a real task and strain. Again, I'm asking out of curiosity as I'm considering the D800... I regrettably sold my D700 (long sad story)

Just two more questions, how often do you shoot in DX mode and why? I know some would argue getting a camera with lower resolution, but I can't imagine you'll need 36 megs all the time.  I read that despite the D800 not being a D700 replacement it's the closest Nikon has provided comparing it to the D600. Thanks guys, sorry for all the questions.
