M4/3 has a great wide zoom - Olympus 9-18mm. Small, sharp, a bit slower than NEX 16mm. More expensive too, but you're paying for zoom ability and better optics. Just pick a body with latest gen M4/3 sensor, like E-M5, PL5 or PM2, and you'll have a great quality lightweight wide combo that isn't too much more expensive than a NEX one.

Another option, albeit a quirky one, is a Pentax K-01 + DA 15mm Great image quality. K-01 is slow, and AF is a little noisy, but that 15mm is no slouch.

Great suggestion. Firmware update improved the K-01 focus speed.

since the DA 15mm is a retrofocus design, it may perform well compared to symetrical rangefinder designs.

All you would need is for your Nex is a Pentax K to Sony E-mount mechanical adapter. For Pentax DA limited lenses, you will need an adapter with an aperture control ring.

Novoflex is the best in terms of quality.

Kipon is good quality an about 40% the cost of the Novoflex.
