Re: Android app using WiFi Direct ?

My wife and I use wifi direct with her Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 and my Galaxy Tab 3.0.

We did not have to download any outside app. It is included stock on our tablets.

You have to turn on wifi direct in network settings. Then they search for other devices. When found, one requests and the other accepts, and you are connected. Any app that has a share feature should have wifi direct in the share places list. We used ES File Explorer, and Goodle Drive just to show it could work. We sent pictures back and forth. If the device is in the range of a wifi network, it will try to use that. If not, then it reverts to bluetooth. I was on a 5g network and she was on a 4g network, and it wanted to have us both on the same network, but eventually, it just accepted bluetooth and connected.

Hope this helps.

Regards........
