Just for fun..which one do you like best?

Thnxs.

I like #2 best, by far. Her eyes are beautiful and they seem to stand out better in this toned image.

Best feature =eyes. For me 3&4 are out because one is covered up. Of 1&2 like #2 best. There is a shadow/imperfection/ rise on the right side of her face by the mouth that is diminished in #2. In my opinion #2 is the best.

Sanjay

After staring at them for the last 5 minutes trying to decide, my conclusion is you cannot compare with 1&2 vs. 3&4

They are totally different images and they feel totally different.

The first set, if I had not seen 3,5 would have me questioning if she was from a middle east country but that she didn't look middle eastern. I do like #1 over #2 though.

The second set of images, 3 and 4, I really like. I prefer #3 over number #4.

Nice work.

Nos. 1 and 2 differ in ways other than the toning, so it's hard to isolate the effect just from the toning.

The mid-tones, especially at the lighter end of the range, seem lighter in 2. The highlights in 2 are a bit brighter. And the local contrast in the lighter area seems lower in 2; note how the freckles are less prominent.

It's a nice series of portraits.

Stunning shots! Especially the second one, a WOW shot!
Thank you Jeffbridge. Good to read, that you like these shots.

By the way...the model squinted years ago. She had an operation later, but I can still see it in her eyes. That's what makes her extra interesting to me as a model.

I would like to see the coloured version of #1 or 2. I think the colour of her eyes are a real attraction and the BW conversions spoils that.

Slightly different crop.

Jessica in colour

This is clearly the Jessica I prefer. You have kept the number of colours low, and the intensity of her eyes are IMHO much better in colour.

I would probably have chosen the colour of the knitwear so that it didn't compete with the colour of her eyes, but apart from that I like it very much. You could perhaps up the contrast a little to bring out the freckles , but that is really just nitpicking.

Thnxs Klaus.

Colour of the knitwear. Good Idea for a next time; I'll try that (or maybe change the color in pp to get an impression). Thank you for advice!

by the way..impressive portraits on your flickr pages!

Thanks for sharing, nice pictures. I like this thread because it's the type of thing I agonize with when trying to finish an image.

For me it's between 1&2. My initial reaction was for 1 because I'm not fond of sepia. But the contrast is much nicer in #2 so I vote for #2. If I was to do it, I would try to convey #2 contrast in a BW image.

The color image is nice too, but the color of the scarf really kills it. It should be in a color to bring out her eyes, maybe in a shade of blue found in her eyes.
