FF is not an evolution — that game will kill Canon and Nikon

I enjoyed this article. Too bad he didn't mention the Pentax ApsC primes. The article is called "The Full Frame Debate" just in case I don't get the URL to post.

Cheers, Robert

What C and N are doing now, is playing a dangerous chess game, trying to persuade and hypnotise all the users that it's the FF they really want. And wishfully forgetting that in the last 12 years it was the APS-C that made their names worthwhile in the world of digital photography.

Majority of their income, of 4 times more digital SLR camera produced than 35mm film SLRs — is singularly tied to an APS-C sensor DSLR.

Judging by sales figures and overall rant by users who feel they are being manipulated, they indeed are asking too much from people. Because they have created people's buying habits, taught them and demonstrated with excellent APS-C designs such are D200, 30D, 7D, D300, D7000, etc. that there is actually nothing wrong with the APS-C DSLR at all.

They have made us smarter, made photography more exciting, and now they want to make us all dumber by shoving FF cameras down our throats for anything more demanding, and deliberately crippling APS-C offers ... it doesn't work.

It's against nature.

On the tother hand, this is perfect time for Pentax, Fuji and Olympus.
