BIF's and birds and how does a Spoonbill fly. NEX-7, 500mm

Nice day yesterday and just had to get out with the NEX-7

So a Spoonbill in flight, looking at the wing structure with the massive flexible bones and joints. Amazing how they can fly, I'm in awe of mother nature.

Royal White Spoonbill

Very large wing bones structure at the front of the wings

Fairly graceful in flight, but kind of clumsy on the deck

Along came a couple of white faced Herons.

This one was interrupted It was not happy.

Invading the others space

Off it went to follow it

A few sacred Kingfisher are out and about, nesting seems to be taking up their time though.

Sacred Kingfisher are getting a little scared with the nesting going on.

Touch down with a small crab feast. Bit heavy on the crop this one, but will have a try anyway.

Slightly older these two shots, pretty sure I haven't posted these before, hey I'm getting old

Out fishing

All the best as always folks
