G16.. Almost There for Me.. Not Yet Though

There's something I love about the Canon G- Series cameras. I guess that's why I still have my G11 (My little brick as I call it). I love the manual control and menu system is easy to navigate. When I need super high resolution detail, I go with my NEX-7 which is simply outstanding. But when I am just walking around enjoying time with friends, then the G11 makes the trip on my low profile Tamrac 5691 carry case attached to my belt. It's just a great little brick of a camera.
That being said the G11 is getting a little old now and the added features of the G15/16 such as the faster lens, etc is important to me.
The thing I can not get around though is Canon getting away from the articulating screen. I know for many that is not a big deal. But for me it is a HUGE deal. You take the specs of the G16 or even the mentioned rumor of G17 (with maybe a bit larger sensor) adding an articulating screen with a FULL FOV high resolution EVF, and this little brick would be just about perfect for its category.
I was a die hard OVF guy for years.. No more. The NEX7 cured me of that.
The G16 looks like a great camera and many will purchase it. If I did not have a G11, I would probably get one... But Canon taking away features like the articulating screen when designing a newer model is never a good thing IMHO... Especially when the OVF is in most practical circumstances useless taking up space....So for now, I will still sit on it for a while longer before I get another Little Brick....
Take care everyone.
