Alan - I was caught out with a shorter FL than planned that evening (50-135 rather than 60-250) but the beauty of these sharp lenses, as you know, is that images can be cropped while losing very little IQ - if any. I took the 50-135 for its f2.8 speed, and that counted in the end.

I used a monopod that night with IBIS, plus ISO of around 2000 - hardly able to see the path in front of me but I came away with pics that just a few years ago would simply have never happened! This alone justifies the use for me of the top quality DA* lenses ..

Rich, you are right being able to crop with these lenses are a real bonus, out of all the Da* lens i have the 60-250 is one i would not be without. I am getting the 18-135 lens again more for versatility of the lens, had it before my copy was a good one, not Da* quality but very good all the same.
