This seems strange to me. Appears it is a Samsung issue as various cameras all have the same problem. Mine doesn't do it all the time, but quite often. And it doesn't just flicker to the setting next to the one I'm on... it will switch to a setting on the other side of the dial.

It has never happened to my NX100, NX200 or NX300. It doesn't switch modes even if I physically rotate the mode dial until it's about 3/4 of the way to the next position. nx200USER1's theory that it might be due to static electricity is interesting, but it would then be much more likely to happen in very dry, low humidity environments. It could also be due to less than perfectly clean switch contacts inside the mode dial. If that's what's causing the problem, you could probably fix it by removing the battery and giving the gap under the mode dial a short blast or two with a spray can of contact cleaner/lubricant. Spin the mode dial several times and wait a minute or two for the spray to evaporate and then put the battery back in. I've sometimes cleaned radio switches and dials without removing the battery and haven't had any problems, but they cost a lot less than an NX300. I've also used it to fix non-functioning power switches on two old Fuji cameras.

I use Caig's DeoxIT, which I bought in a Radio Shack many years ago. RS still sells it but some stores either don't carry it or their under-trained staff don't know about it and don't check to see if it's in stock. Two tiny spray cans cost about $20, which for me appears to be a lifetime supply. I see that Adorama sells a much larger spray can of a slightly different formulation ("DeoxIT® D-Series contact cleaner is a fast-acting deoxidizing solution that cleans, protects, lubricates and improves conductivity on all metal connectors and contacts.") for 1/2 the price.
