Camera at end of C-Stand - is vibrations likely to be an issue

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of putting a camera (say D800 size) on the end of a 1m long boom on a C-stand, say 2.5m high to shoot straight downwards onto a subject.  Any issues  with vibrations, I guess people will say shoot at a higher shutter speed, but I need maximum sharpness at F8 and low iso, say 200.  Shutter speed maybe around a second. Of course shoot mirror up and remote release.    I just tried at home using an ordinary flash stand with those circular connectors for an adjustable boom arm and was fairly wobbly!
