You can capture high speed subjects but you have to work around the camera's limitations.

Use shutter priority and continuous focus for starters. Don't be afraid to bump the iso to keep the shutter speed high enough.

Yep, agree with most cams, but some cams have a stunning stability/ anti shake system,

As i wrote above, i can use it away from my head, WITH a wonderful Nikon 1.7TC (1.000+mm)

and i hear that the SX50 should have no problems with it.
