It's here! EM1 first impressions....Updated.

Picked up my EM1 at UPS today, and got a few shots in before charging the battery. I've posted them below...the remains of my garden after a couple of frosts.

I am impressed with this camera. In just a half hour or so of use, without even customizing the buttons or dials, it started to vanish in my hands. I have not had that happen since the GH2, so I am very pleased. Once I get it set up the way I like to use it, I expect that it will be a real joy to use.

Size is excellent, feel is solid, wheels work just right, rear screen is the right size; EVF is terrific. Card door snaps firmly into place, everything just feels right.

Jpg color seems to be excellent. OOC contrast seems a bit lower than on the EPM2, which is good; I get more leeway tweaking jpgs with it set that way (I had the contrast turned down in the EPM2, but I don't need to do that on this camera.)

I have not experimented with all the shutter speeds, but you can see from the images below, I have sharp photos in the range that shutter shock has happened typically before on the Olys (I did set anti-shock to 1/8, though). (All these shots had IBIS on). I did get a clear hand held shot of one of the dogs down at 1/4 sec (!) at 25mm. That was pretty impressive.

I will post more photos after I get a chance to go out with the camera in a couple of days. Here's what I have from this afternoon.

If this is as good as I think it is, it will definitely be time to put the EPM2 and the VF4 up on Ebay. I don't see myself using it much if I have this I one.....
