Hurray for live view
I recently upgraded from a D80 to a D5100. I purchased a refurbished body from Cameta and have been very happy with it. What a great camera the D5100 is. I take a lot of wildflower pictures in the Spring and getting down low and looking thru the viewfinder is getting harder every year. The articulating LCD and live view along with manual focus just really work out well for me. I mostly use a 50mm macro Sigma lens for this.
I use an infrared remote (D5100 has dual sensors) with my tripod, so I can just enlarge the view for focusing, then turn off live view and click when the breeze settles and I'm ready. I've included a picture practicing on a flower still in bloom at my home (Cosmos).
Has anyone else found the live view helpful? For macro work its great. Notice I have the view finder blocked off, so it does not interfere with metering - bper
PS - Picture was taken with my D80.
