Good response to a very old question, as you stated.

Another reasoning in what I consider the limitations of SPP, is that all the editing changes are saved back to the RAW file. The files have very limited, and specific, locations in the header information in the X3F file, and do not have the free space to add in some of the desired functions. And relying on the X3F file to hold all possible changes and variables as the processes improve is not a reasonable expectation.

I have always considered SPP as the best RAW processing program for the X3F files, but rarely stop there in PP.
