Alternatively, the OP could wait for full frame and shoot the FA 43 f/1.9 which would yield an equivalent focal length.

For myself, the 43 is too short on the 35mm format. Maybe it's because I shot with a 50mm lens during my early learning photography period, but I really like the AOV that a slightly long standard lens gives.

Pentax makes plenty of options at 35mm, which it 52mm fov equivalent. The OP wanted a 29mm. 29 x 1.5 = 43.5.

Also, that doesn't solve the issue that Pentax doesn't make a fast standard for the APS-C format.

I think the DA 35 f/2.4 is their answer.
