This will be cool if they get it working right. And cheaper!!
I just saw this over at FlashHavoc. So I thought I'd look here and darned if you hadn't already posted something I missed!
The new YN-E3-RT transmitter will provide practically all the features of the original Canon ST-E3-RT, plus a number of important extra features. These include a built in AF assist light, 2nd Curtain Sync (Only in M mode), USB port for , and added range to 100 Meters.
If you may have missed the original announcement, YongNuo will also have a fully compatible YN600EX-RT flash unit coming at some point in the near future as well.
This is what I had hoped for back when I got the 600ex-rt: third party support!
I'm not a flash-master by any means, and certainly can't afford a fleet of 600's. I was just starting to think my only hope was that Canon might come out with a 440ex-rt.
The fact that this thing has flash assist could be exciting depending on how it's implemented. I guess even if it's like what they've got on some of their flashes (center point focus), that's better than nothing.
I'll also be keeping my fingers crossed for some compatible TTL triggers! That would be fantastic!
It seems that lately Yongnuo have stepped up their game a bit. I haven't been too keen on my YN0565ex. But I'm certainly willing to give this a shot (no pun intended) and see how it works!
Can't wait to see production versions and reviews of this.
My gripe with Canon was no backward support via a radio trigger for those who have 580's and 430's. I mean if Phottix and Pixel King can do it, why not the original manufacture?
