Is F 1.2 really that difficult ??

Anyway, you are right about the lust for "silver bullets", it's universal across all domains. Sorry to disappoint so many, even a silver projectile can't hit the target as it's imagined.

I never owned or even tried f/1.2 lenses, but the f/1.4 I sometimes use are very good from wide open. Perhaps, as you say, they are of newer designs (I do not know how far back you go), or we have different measurements for softness.
