Struggling to get consistently sharp shots with E-M1

Hi I was fortunate enough to get an early E-M1 and have been using the camera now for about 2 weeks. Lovely ergonomics, build quality and feel but I am struggling to get consistency in my images. I seem to get a lot of blurring across the photos that look like camera shake. I am no novice as I have been using Nikon gear as long as I can remember. Is it a good idea to keep the shake reduction permanently engaged or turn off if shooting high speeds. I do not use on a tripod. I currently use the 45mm f1.8, 17mm 1.8 and 75mm 1.8, all olympus lenses. The other question that I find I ask myself, filter or no filter? If I am to fully take on  this camera as my primary system maybe there is a bigger learning curve than first thought?

Any advice would be very much appreciated. I can post images but I will see if I get any response first

Regards, Dave
