Re: What's missing from Samsung?

Isn't this a thread about saying what is missing from Samsung?
I think a serious desire to be in the Mirrorless Market full stop is something that is missing. They are producing Gimmicky products more then serious contenders.
The Galaxy NX is a Gimmick not a fully function camera, the EVF on it is totally useless as putting your eye to it removes every feature of the camera. It's Wifi apps are geared toward the consumers of it's point and shoots not to the people that might like manual controls.
It released a 3D lens. ... 3D... it took time to develop a 3D lens in 2013 over say a work horse lens like 18-50 f4 or f2.8
In the 30 months that I have been using Samsung Cameras (NX11 and then NX20) Samsing has put out a 85, 60, 18-200, 45, 12-24, 10. plus 2 new versions of the 50-200 and several white and pink lens. And has formed no partnerships with 3rd party manufacturers. (well Lens baby)
Sony (a system I compare Samsung to as they were about on par when I choose Samsung over Sony) on the other hand, has produced 8 new lens plus 2 additional lens' with the Zeiss name and formed deals with Tamron and Sigma who have produced several more. B&H currently lists 25 unique lens between them. The only major glaring issues are a strong Portrait Long Prime and Longer Macro. (30mm really?)
I like Samsung I want them to do better, I pointed out the issues that have cropped up. If I'm on a photowalk, the battery length issue is easy to deal with, I have three it gets me through a day of shooting in the winter. It is much harder to explain why I have to stop turn off the camera and pull the battery 3 times a day because the camera locked up. Or why I have to wait for so long when I use features that the camera doesn't have the buffer, software or processor to support. (8fps for anything but studio work is a one shot hail mary because if you miss it you won't get another chance for most things) they could have used 6fps and might have made it work, but they wanted gimmick stats.
A consistent and dedicated long term plan to produce a full featured, quality CSC, accessories and partnerships is what is missing more then anything else from Samsung right now. Which is a shame because they have my favourite APS-C body.
