Re: What's missing from Samsung?
There seems to be a vocal group of people that feel that Mirrorless is useless once you get useful glass that can be used for more then Landscape, Travel and Street. This group seems to think that if you would want longer, faster glass that you might as well buy a DSLR. These seem to be the same people that only want to shoot JPG and feel that the JPG engine is among the most important elements of the camera.
For me I went Mirrorless and I think several Photographers are similar, was a choice because of the options that become available to you when shooting Mirrorless, but I shoot more then just landscapes, and I don't want to have to buy a second camera to do that.
The biggest issue for Samsung is that they say they take the Mirrorless market seriously, but then release cameras like the Galaxy NX and have yet to release significant numbers of glass, or partnered with 3rd party lens companies.
I like the NX20 but yes I would like to have a few lens' available to me that are useful for something like parties, weddings, wildlife, events and the like. a 50-135/150 2.8, a 18/20-50 2.8 100mm Macro, 300mm F4, These are the work horse lens' that are still not out.
I'd also love a grown up menu system, which is also a sign that Samsung isn't targeting photographers.
and a Wifi App that gave more then Auto control. Also a sign they aren't targeting photographers.
I've been asked about my camera many times, what people see is me loosing a shot because of lock ups, me changing batteries three times during a day long shoot. Most seem to think it is a neat idea, and takes great photos, but not one person has considered buying it.
