Looking to buy a 9000, is it the right camera for me?

So I've been shooting now for about 2 years, only on DSLRs (well, specifically on my Sony a57 SLT) but have used friends' Nikon and Canon gear.
I have 6 lenses now for the A-Mount system and love the shots I get on my camera but am looking to branch into film as well.
After looking at the older cameras the a9000 really stuck out to me, the looks of the camera are that perfect late 80s melding of "futuristic" design that I love, but the professional features, and ability to wind manually (something i particularly loved when using cameras in my youth) had me over looking the other cameras in the line-up.
However, while I shoot on manual or Shutter-priority mode for most of my shots, and always manual focus, will switching to this film camera be a huge learning curve?
Just hoping for some friendly advice, (I did also have a look at the Minolta 7) thanks everybody!
Ry.
