Samsung sometimes seems to just follow a path they have in mind, w/o listening to customers at all. Otherwise they would already have released a nx300 with optional evf and bigger buffer and they wouldn't have brought to market a galaxy nx without physical controls.

I don't think they have a coherent market strategy. So far they have been blindly copying others instead of trying to find their own way.

NX10 was a copy of Panasonic G1 with its mini-DSLR form-factor. NX100 in terms of specs was a near perfect copy of GF1, including its atrocious external EVF. When it became clear that Sony NEX was a hit, they tried (unsuccessfully) to copy the NEX with NX200. Even their 45mm is a thoughtless attempt to create a lens as appealing as Olympus 45mm, but without realizing that 45mm on APS-C is a bit weird.

The biggest downside of this approach, obviously, is that by the time your copy hits the market, the competitors have already moved on. In retrospect it's really hard to believe that NEX-7 and NX200 were announced at the same time. NEX-7 is a difficult camera to love. It's deeply flawed, and yet even today, 2 years later, it is in many ways far superior to anything Samsung has to offer. It's a modern camera through and through — and NX200, NX20, NX210 and their brethren feel like something from the Stone Age.

This picture was originally published by Samsung Tomorrow, an official Samsung blog, in early 2011. It shows various experimental NX bodies. As you can see, Samsung was working on a retro-styled rangefinder-type body long before Fujifilm caused such a stir with their X-series cameras. I bet the person responsible for canning this project is sh*tting bricks now when Fujifilm cameras and lenses are selling like hot cakes, but Samsung NX is still as listless as ever.
