Battle of the Sidebar writers EVF good for BIF or not :)

I am reading September 2013 Outdoor Photographer.

One article is "Top DSLRs for Wildlife"

It's one of the articles that is written by committee  Actually a series of side bars that are clearly written by different authors with no attempt to consolidate POV.

The Autofocus section mentions Nikon, Canon & Pentax.. only

The "Reach Section" is all about crop factor only mentioning Olympus 4/3 as having the best reach because of the crop factor. (which is very pedantic way of looking at it)

But I got a good laugh from the Frames Per Second and EVFs for Wildlife sections.

>>The FPS section is clear written by Canikon Snob.. as it opens with:

"Today's highest-rated DSLRs for frames per second are Canon's EOS-1D X (12 fps at full resolution with AF for each frame and Nikon's D4 (10 fps......

Not one mention of the A99 in this sidebar even though the list of FF DSLRs list the A99.

When it gets to midrange APS it says "

In APS-C Sony's SLT-A77, with a fixed mirror , can do 12 fps with continuous AF -- but has an electronic viewfinder that isn't ideal for birds in flight, but fine for a lot of other wildlife photography (see the "EVFs For Wildlife" sidebar)

>>In the "EVF" sidebar it says

..., so you get full-time continuous AF, with convenient eye-level viewing, even in movies. Thus, SLT cameras can do videos of birds in flight. (When conventional DSLRs are in Live View or Movie mode, the eye level finder blacks out so you ... contrast-based AF, which is too slow for action as implanted in DSRLs)

So clearly some writers have never even tried a Sony and the EVF writer was probably assigned the sidebar because they used Sony.

And the poor reader has a mess of conflicting and incomplete info.  Sigh.
