Even if there was a time (years I think) when E-Mount became the standard across the SLR format.. it will need to retain the features of the A-Mount cameras to succeed.. and Amount lenses will work fine. So not too worried..

It's not possible to build a SLR or DSLR using the E-Mount.  So E-Mount will never become the standard for DSLR.  E-Mount (and A mount "mirrorless") will be what's beaten by DSLRs from other brands that don't even have to be redesigned to beat them.

As of now on PDAF the on sensor is way behind SLR/DSLR AF.  I expect that as Sony modifies their sensor system to add PDAF that disadvantages of this use will become more apparent.  Especially as Sony is designing for newly converted P&S folks and believes the needs of everyone are found in P&S.

There are good reasons why mirrorless is found in lower end cameras and not in top end gear.
