Re: On-sensor PDAF, will it be as good as mirrored cameras?

Its all speculation ....

Will a FF e-mount camera that sells forlots  less than the a99 focus as good.. who knows..

They need to beat the other small IC lens offerings (PEN) NOT beat their own higher end cameras.

So what happens with a FF NEX format camera has very little to do with what will happen with the DSLR/SLT  format cameras.

Canon has a good sensor based AF on the 70D..

AF speed is one of the Sony lead features at least in the A77...

I would expect any tech updates to try to match that.. or they will get reviews comparing the new cameras to the SLT cameras which still beats many Canon and Nikon offerings.

E-Mount does not mean slow focus it does not mean in camera stabilization is impossible for larger body cameras.. it is a mount. Matched with the right innovations it should match the a-mount camera in every way if that were the plan.

Even if there was a time (years I think) when E-Mount became the standard across the SLR format.. it will need to retain the features of the A-Mount cameras to succeed.. and Amount lenses will work fine. So not too worried..
