"Most Americans disapprove of the way Obama is handling his job, the poll suggests, with 53 percent unhappy with his performance and 37 percent approving of it. Congress is scraping rock bottom, with a ghastly approval rating of 5 percent. Indeed, anyone making headlines in the dispute has earned poor marks for his or her trouble, whether it's Democrat Harry Reid, the Senate majority leader, or Republican John Boehner, the House speaker, both with a favorability rating of 18 percent."

No wonder Obama blinked first. 37% ouch!

As financial markets show signs of worry, White House plans meetings with lawmakers

'With financial markets reflecting growing concern about the potential for a U.S. default, the White House on Wednesday announced a series of meetings with lawmakers from both parties to focus on the government shutdown, looming debt crisis and festering fiscal stalemate."

Even with the non-stop propaganda from the leftist media, Obama numbers are still taking a huge hit.

The so called leftist media doesn't really have to do much. This is out and out treason on the part of the Repubs but it will come back to bite em'. Here in Australia we have just gotten a new right wing gov. (installed by Murdoch) after the success of years of the same kinds of strategies (from the Murdock play book). Now the mongrels are in they can't seem to do a thing or get anything right and the left have respected democracy and let them get established.

Their MO is always the same, kick back for the super rich, run the country in permanent austerity, cut back on all government services.  Here in WA, when the Barnett government came to power in 2008 the state debt was $3.7 billion, now budget predicted a $47 billion debt by 2023. They are now drastically cutting back everywhere, when they have been sailing over a 10-year mining boom, our utilities have skyrocketed. Who benefited from the mining boom? I guess we know the answer.

Gina Rinehart is so happy about the new government.

“BILLIONAIRE mining magnate Gina Rinehart flew Coalition MPs, including the Liberal Party's deputy leader Julie Bishop and Nationals Senate leader Barnaby Joyce, to take part in a sumptuous three day-wedding of a prominent Indian industrialist in Hyderabad. Ms Rinehart took the Canberra delegation by private jet to a Reddy family wedding earlier this week.”

The party for the top rich has already begun.
