How are the new iMac displays for photography work?

I've read a lot of conflicting reports about the quality of the iMac displays for photography work. Some say they're not a good choice because of the glare, the smaller color gamut, and the inability to calibrate them accurately. Others say the glare has been significantly reduced, and that the calibration possible is "good enough" for most photographers.

I don't do much printing or critical color work, and I'm not a pro. I'm just a hobbyist—but I do appreciate accurate color.

Would an iMac display be good enough for me?
