The "everything" that Obama wants is 1) to fund the government, and 2) to pay bills already incurred. The funding level that the Senate has agreed to, BTW, is the same sequester-level funding that the House has passed. What the Republicans hope to get out of this is not clear, but they are using extortion to get it, whatever it is.

Obama's political challenge is to find a way to help Boehner save face, i.e., to help him crawl out of the hole that he has dug for himself, without letting negotiation by extortion become a precedent.
