take a look through your lens with opened diaphragm, make sure you don't see web-like mesh.

Once I bought Sigma 400mm f/5.6 APO prime lens that looked perfect outside. External optical elements were perfect too. However IQ was poor - showing very strong CA/PF artifacts.

Upon closer inspection internal lens element turned out to be affected by fungus.

Person is taking photos, not camera. When photograph is bad, it's because photographer doesn't know how to choose settings optimal to "own preferences". Then blames camera for bad IQ.
This is same as blaming car about arriving to wrong destination.
