I'm going on a trip to Peru, Bolivia and New York in about a month and I'm not sure what to do. Sell the Sigma 10-20 and get the 17-40 or simply keep the Sigma on my 7D (I do have to take 2 bodies on that trip besides other lenses).
Any advice?
Tim
my experience using 17-40 f4 with crop sensor camera (40D) has been very positive, i have gotten very good result. i have been using 17-40 f4 and my 70-200 f4IS in the past 5 yrs overseas and was very happy with result. i used my 17-40 f4 about 85% of the time. weight of both lenses were very minimal and i didn't notice any soft corners in my shots especially if you stop down to f8. if you are using your 7D on your trip, i would strongly recommend the 17-40 f4. i know there are some negative views about this lens but i totally ignore them because i know how good a lens this is
