R3000 dropping colour profile and printing low res, randomly?

Hi everyone.

I have been printing with my Epson R3000 since the beginning of the year and getting some great results, especially with Baryta paper.

I decided that I wanted to make my first hand-made photo book and invested in some really nice double sided matt paper. I also had custom profiles made for it.

When it works, it looks really nice, the images are sharp and colours are good. But for some reason it almost seems to drop the colour profile and print low resolution completely randomly! To the effect you could print an image once and it not be any good, print it again with the exact same settings and it be absolutely fine.

I'm completely perplexed by it.

I'm using a MacBookPro with external hardware calibrated screen.

I'm using OS 10.8.5.

I'm printing from Lightroom 5.2.

I have also tried printing from Photoshop CS6 and I can't get a decent print at all, the same issue, the print looks low res and the colours are way out.

Please help end my misery DP Review Land.

Yours sincerely.
