Dear Dave,

Please forgive me for the slow answer, I thought, that this forum enden. But I am happy with the good advices I got.

The problem is listtla bit different. It took me a cople of month to realise the rigt answer, which wasn't cleas for the Hungarian official representative of Canon, and also for the repair shop!!!

So, the full hd video signal makes an immense data stream. To pick up this stream and record it, you need a really high speed data transfer method. It is, why, to record full hd signal, you need a transfer speed of minimum 30-40 mb/s, or even higher. This speed is fulfilled wiht UHS-I memory cards. I didn't know, what this means. It took me a couple of hours to find the right information on the Samsung website, when I checked the performance of the UHS-I card I bought, which wasn't the solution for me. The Samsung website was the only one, which wrote, the speed of 40 mb/s is granted only cameras with UHS-I interface. And the Canon 600D has no this interface. So, you can buy memory cards with supesonic speed, this camera won't make good full hd videos in this life.

Have a nice day!

Best regards,

Endre Trepper

Thanks for taking the time to reply to us.

For what it's worth I'm using a class 10 card in my 5DMKIII and one in my 650D and have no issues with video recording or play back. These cards are not expensive and definitly not the fastest cards available, just the normal Kinston class 10 cards.

it sounds like you are a little confused over all this as Canon have provided a fast enough card slot on the 600D, they  couldn't not do this.

Have you tried any other cards? Maybe you have a bad card or it's just a little too slow for the intended us. It has to be class 10 or above.
