In Defense of the DSLR

Wait, who's dead?

One guy says mirrorless is dead while another says mirrors are dead. This is all very silly. I like them all - I've enjoyed watching the digital revolution and during it all, some new players have come into being while some older ones have disappeared. I like all cameras and all designs. I'd be more than happy to go out and play with an old SpeedGraphic again or even an old TLR.

Photography is fun no matter which brand is stamped on the body. I don't want to see any of them go out - they're all unique and I can't wait to see the next innovations. I don't hate Canon and I own a Nikon. I don't hate mirrorless and yet I own a DSLR. I'm not a big fan of EVFs even now, but I've used them and have made some nice images with them.

Why the emotion? Do you who say "die" actually enjoy photography, or do you just have an emotional attachment to a brand/design? Do you take your camera to bed?  Geez.
