If so, motion artifacts could be a problem.

I wouldn't want to do this and rely on software to align images correctly. If I wanted HDR but didn't have a means of support I would take a single correctly exposed image and create over and under exposed versions from the Raw file. Obviously you can'y stray too far from the original otherwise you will get degradation but a stop or two should be fine.
