American Indian Pow-Wow in Yorktown, NY

As a part of my daughter's homework we visited a Pow-Wow in Yorktown, NY. It was a colorful celebration of the American Indian history and traditions. Amazing how many people are "into it" and how carefully they preserve their nation's history and rituals. I loved the photo opportunities, of course. We all learned something today. I guess the homework doesn't always have to be boring...

E-30 and 50-200 shined as the lighting was perfect (light clouds). Everyone had fun.

Traditional women dances were very intense but pretty.
