Re: Consensus on 24-70/2.8 II field curvature at infinity focus?

My Nikkor 24-70 behaves in the opposite way. It has terrible corners at 24mm at short distances, even at f/8, and it's perfectly fine at landscapes.

Both Nikkor and Canon should be excellent for photojournalist type of shooting, like between 5 and 20 meters away from the target. The other distances will be affected by design compromises - the Canon is excellent at shorter distances, and it seems that the Nikkor has a flat field curvature at infinity. This is the reason the Canon scores better than the Nikkor in most reviews (short distance tests).
