What setup is good for landscape shots?

Im a new user of Sony nex mirrorless camera.

Im learning it but the whole manual settings is still a work in progress.

What would be best for good sharp landscape shots?

What would be best for shots of people infront of landscape?

Using aperture mode with F9+, or other type of setting?

I want the background to a little distinguished from the object, but yet can be "understood", to not go too blurry.

One last question, What is best for shooting inside caves?

Im about to go eastern europe to see some, and of course a good shots would be welcome

Take in mind Im not about to use a tripod
