What would it take for the M to be "successful"

I have a feeling that most people have similar ideas about what it would take for the M line to be successful - starting with DPAF either from or similar to the new 70D sensor.  But beyond that, what do you think is necessary for the M to become "successful".  Additionally, exactly HOW would you define success?

Also, let's keep this realistic.  I'm not looking for posts about how we need a full frame sensor, 15 pancake lenses with L quality optics, a flash powerful and technologically advanced enough to act as multiple strobes, the ability to AF down to -10 EV, and all in a form factor that is the size of a toothpick.  Oh, and cheaper than a P&S!  lol  Be realistic.  Think as though you're in Canon sales & marketing and research & development.
