SZ-30MR - Harvest Moon
Science at NASA has an interesting video regarding the full moon in September - so I thought I shoot the moon again, again -
You can use the SZ-30MR for moon shots as it is - but if you use in-camera magnification, you then need the full 4x Digital Zoom. As it is, I used DZ 2.52.
Sometime last year I modified the CLA-4 adaptor (for the C-750UZ RIP) to suit my B-300 1.7x tele converter. I think it is worth digging out that illustration again. It still gets hits in my gallery -
This contraption sits on a tripod with spot focus and spot meter settings, and I also use a 12 second shutter delay. The SZ-30MR is also light enough for the a-focal technique on a telescope (but I have no telescope as yet).
Here are the stages of converting that ancient CLA-4 adaptor -
