C-Mount to Samsung NX

Well known rubbish lens. Better to get the NX 20 or 30mm imo.

Hi, I bought this lens through ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/390580817917?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l264
It states that there is an adapter available from C-Mount to NX body, does anybody know where can I find one?
Thanks
#1..... It's a CCTV lens. Those lenses were designed for surveillance cameras ( 8mm and 16mm format),

#2..... The most important thing is that CS-mount lenses have shorter flange focal distance ( of 12.5 mm), than NX mount lenses (25.5 mm). Therefore no non-optical adapter can be built to mount CS lens on NX body. Ones with modified optics will most likely cost 20x of what your lens cost is.

#3..... This particular lens ( as most CCTV lenses)is - at best - of mediocre quality.

I feel sorry for your financial loss. Don't give up and learn. We all knew nothing about photography at some stage of our lives.

Bookmark the following table. All mounts below NX should have appropriate adapters. Anything above is NO NO.

Thank you very much for your help!

Seems like you could at least use it as a close focus/macro lens. If you are very handy and ambitious, the lens diameter of 36mm might allow you to build an adapter that sets the c-mount flange behind the NX flange. (Looking inside my NX100's mount tells me you would not get that far due to conflicts with the electrical contacts, etc.) Maybe you could use a reverse mount adapter for more macro fun...?

As far as my understanding, there won't be any C-NX lens adapter.

The reason to these, C-mount 17.25 mm flange focal distance was way too short and it image circle too small for Samsung NX mount 25.50 mm FFD. Even if there is any, the C-mount lens will be dangerously 7/25mm intruding into NX camera body which may cause some damage to the camera.

Maybe next time you should buy some of those old 35mm film lenses like those from Nikon, Canon, Minolta and Olympus that come with aperture ring which you can stop down the aperture manually.

A bunch of lens type with enough image circle and flange focal distance that suited Samsung NX-mount 25.50 mm FFD nicely with a lens mount conversion adapter.
  • Nikon F-mount (FX, DX) = 46.50 mm
  • Canon FD-mount = 42.00 mm
  • Pentax K-mount = 45.46 mm
  • Minolta A-mount = 44.50 mm
  • Olympus OM-mount = 46.00 mm
Last but not least, just bear in mind that old 35mm film lenses might not in good condition and IQ control (like flare control), may not well suited for digital camera.

hi

i have a c-mount on my Computar lens, but i could unscrew this then use a m42 adapter (or a screw type adapter with correct thread on)

this worked very well .

not sure if you have same thread on your lens .
