At least four people have been killed in a mass shooting at the Washington Navy Yard, a naval installation in the US capital, a Navy official has said.

Welcome to the 21st Century were the World is instantly made aware of the shootings that occur in our country. CNN, Fox News, and all the other networks are going to pick this event a part, piece by piece. Wolf Blitzer, Piers Morgan, etc, etc. Boy, they will just go crazy over this because they get to plaster their faces on the news again, and people will be watching.

Can I be honest with you Lane? We have over 300 million people living in this country, and the ONLY focus you see, is what the television networks cover, and that is the SENSATIONAL EVENTS. They (news networks) are the most hated people in this country right now. Every time something happens, the news networks pounce on it like a sharks going after bait. We will now hear about this for about a week or so, and it will all die down. That is how it all works over here. Media, media, media.

Not to say these type of events are not horrific, but can you please try to put in into perspective with all of those human beings that were recently killed in Syria with chemical weapons? Please?

100 Thousands civilians murdered, compared to 13 now. Is this really the biggest event? Yet the mass murderer, Assad, gets to turn in the rest of his chemical weapons and go on living life as normal, and Vladimir Putin supports him.

Lets put it all into perspective, OK? It is a horrific event, that happens way to often in this country. But violent crime is DOWN considerably in this country, NOT UP. And what is happening here is in NO COMPARISON to what is going on with Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and many other countries right now where wars rage on.

And so because it is worse somewhere else it is OK at home. Great. Nice of you to compare yourselves to Syria as well, that seems about right.
