Question to 100D Owners

Hi Guys,

I own a 7D and a 6D. The reason I am planning to buy a 100D is for the heavy travel that I plan to do beginning this month. I've checked the reviews and they're all very encouraging in terms of being a back-up travel camera. It will thus mostly be the 6D for me as main camera, and the 100D as back-up henceforth. The heavier 7D stays at home and is spending a lot of time with my daughter anyway as she starts getting interested in photography.

My EF lenses are of the range that allows me both ultra-wide and decent telephoto should I decide to purchase the 100D. Here are my questions:

  1. Responsiveness - is the camera speedy in actual use? Does it suffer from any focus tentativeness?
  2. How does it feel when equipped with a bigger lens (such as a 70-300mm or even the medium-sized 24-105mm)? Does the ergo drop drastically when the lens are bigger or heavier than the body?
  3. Durability - how is the build and the shutter mechanism? As solid as most baseline Rebels? I had the 400D in the past for about two years and it felt like it was able to survive endless bumps and scratches.

I am looking for your subjective take on these, your personal opinion as against your previous gear or camera. Thanks in advance!
