A Circular Fisheye For M4/3…Sort Of.

180 Circular Fisheye: FT 9-18 + Raynox FE180

This thread got me thinking about my gear. I have a Raynox FE180 (x 0.24) add on lens I got way back for may Minolta A1. I've used it a lot on my FT 14-42. It gives a 180 horizontal view, with the edges vignetted into (   ). That actually can look very nice with an oval crop. And I have the step up ring to get the same thing with the 12-50. When I use it (which isn't all that often), I chose between the oval/parenthesis zoom or the 180 diagonal.

But I also have a FE 9-18. So I hand held the Raynox in front of the lens, and did get a true circular fisheye. See the example here:


So, I'm thinking of getting a stepdown ring for the times I want the circular effect. (Oh yes, that combination is going to be a BIG, weird looking rig.)
