According to my "Pentax Lenses and Accessories" booklet. It was printed in May of 1984 by Asahi Optical co. On page 14 they list a SMC Pentax-M 50mm f/1.2. It says great lens for the ME-Super camera (I bet it was) They have a 135-600mm f/6.7 tele zoom on page 27! Sweet! Where is my time machine? It was probably about 400$ back then.

I have a booklet with the same name, but no date. It has 42 Pentax lenses in it, including the above.

Pentax really took itself seriously as a professional system, with a reflex lens of 1000mm f/11, another of 2000mm f/13.5, a Shift lens 28mm f/3.5, auto extension tubes, 2x Rear Converter, auto bellows unit & slide copier (I had those), and a 90-degree mirror adapter for discrete photography!

lol - an "around the corner" lens.  subtle but radical.
