So if I pick up either of these lenses, it will be to replace the 12-50mm. While this lens has been bashed a lot for less than stellar IQ, I found it adequate for most purposes, but it was having quick access to the MACRO setting that really makes it shine.

I was sad to think I'd be selling this lens to finance the 12-40 ...but the close focusing distance of the 12-40 has turned things right around! I just wish it was so hefty...
