Nex-5r video options avchd vs mp4
I want to start shooting more video. I've got a sony nex-5r - my video options are avchd 50p 50i and mp4 30p (not 60p/i)
I've previously only used mp4 30p for easy compatibility.
I edit with Final Cut Pro x. It's used / viewed just at home mostly on PC or on tv highest possible quality.
Avchd 50p looks amazing and smooth. I do film moving object, sports and pan the camera handheld and it looks million times better than mp4 format.
In editing when creating final cut project I can only choose 25, 29.9 and 30 frames per second and the end result I export via a mp4 format.
I want the smoothness and higher quality of the avchd how do I achieve this when I have to export to 30frames anyway. Then I have also even told I have to encode at half the original frame rate which is 25fps. That doesn't produce a very good end.
What format do I shoot from the camera to get the best results ideally the 50p quality with an end resulting mp4 or mov file format.
