Just a comment to say I don't understand the fascination with the white lens. I have been using the G1 for a couple years now, mostly on a gunstock for birds and wildlife, and have never heard any other photographers, or other critters, Tee Hee about my silver lens. I do have a birding tips book by Pete Dunne with the title, "Good Birders Don't Wear White". Just a thought.

I don't understand it either.  Aren't a lot of Canon lenses white?  Maybe they're ashamed of having a Sony and want to pretend it's a Canon, or have those that see it 'think' it's a Canon.

Personally, I like the looks of my silver G1.
