This is going to hurt sales. no doubt. What a mistake.

Exactly! If this spec is true it will be disaster not only for Oly but for M43.

Read this Olympus: I did not buy your EM5 or EP5 ONLY because of video mode spec.
EM1 should have had 4K @24fps, 1920x1080@60p at 28 or more mbps with real zero sharpening option.
I wonder if they included in EM1 (pdaf) focus confirmation feature for my SLRMagic/CV lenses.
Also if I can reconfigure those Auto, SCN etc. modes to my C1/2,3,4 on the main dial. How fast I can magnify image using real button and if it works during recordings?
Audio levels?
optional .dng?
optional uniWB?

Those are only few suggestions for future firmware update/s.

Just buy the GH3 or Blackmagic or some other good videocam. I suspect less than 5% of M43 users have those specialised lenses or even care about really excellent video taking. I have more need for a MP3/MP4 player in the camera than advanced video. As there is already a nice LCD, a SDcard slot, and a processor, Why not?  Just another $5 of circuitry, I bet.  Also, Internet browsing and email.
