70-400 II produce worst images than version I?

I use my G1 with an A57 at 10 FPS with continuous autofocus.  The D7100 with 80-400 will get you 6 to 7 FPS.  This make a huge difference when shooting sports.  You'll have to buy a D4 for $6,000 if you want to keep up with the A57.  BTW, I also own the D7100 and it is the best camera I own including my D800; the D7100 simply isn't a sports camera.  Isn't that one of the primary reasons you'd but a 70-400 in the first place.
