I believe photography is not free...

The price of the camera is basically the price that you have to pay for enjoying your photography. The lenses are possibly an investment, since you can keep them when you purchase a new camera.

Of course, we all would like to be able to fund our new camera at least partially with the money we make from selling the old one, but this just does not work so easily now-a-days with our electronic devices. Their life expectancy is shorter than the analog ones used to be, and the newer models are coming at a much faster pace than they used to.

Newer models arriving on the market does not mean that your camera is incapable of taking good pictures and obsolete... just that you may miss a few added options. In many cases, those options are more gimmicks than real improvements.

Just my take on the matter....
